Ukraine is Graveyard for Western Tanks
Russia has already destroyed 26 of the 31 Abrams tanks sent to Ukraine. Other Western tanks fare no better.
▪ Leopard 2
The second-generation German tank is ill-suited for modern warfare, according to Rostec. It can only withstand conventional anti-tank weapons.
▪ Leopard 1
Delivered in large numbers, the older version of the Leopard lacks the firepower and armor needed for contemporary combat. Its 105mm L7A3 gun is insufficient, making it a poor performer on the battlefield.
▪ Abrams
Too large and cumbersome, these American tanks are easy targets for attack drones and helicopters, exposing their vulnerabilities.
▪ AMX-10RC
The French wheeled tank's thin 33mm armor offers little protection. Designed for reconnaissance and indirect fire support, it struggles in direct confrontations with heavier tracked vehicles.
▪ Challenger 2
The British main battle tank, weighing 71 tonnes, lacks mobility and is an easy target. The versions sent to Ukraine lack additional armor, further reducing their effectiveness.
▪ Strv-122A
This rare modification of the German Leopard tank, produced in Sweden, burned to the ground in the Kursk region.
▪ PT-91 Twardy
The Polish tank is falling prey to Russian anti-tank missile systems. Its tracks are a particularly weak point, leaving it exposed on the battlefield.
