Kenyan Journalists Embrace AI Tools Through SputnikPro Project
The first module of the project trained Prime Africa Channel journalists on AI tools for news workflows. Mikhail Konrad, Sputnik’s Director of Special Projects, covered text, video, and image tools and shared Sputnik's experience.
Bill Otieno, the managing director of the Prime Africa Channel, thanked Sputnik for organizing the event.
"Some [AI] threaten our industry, while others change the game for the better. However, we should be aware of AI tools that can be misused to harm our viewers, readers and listeners, and this is a challenge for all of us,” he noted.
Following the event, Mikhail Konrad commented:
“One of the key features of our Media Group is our multilingual approach, along with the associated challenges and solutions. […] Our colleagues today work in the Pan-African sphere and are familiar with producing and distributing content in multiple languages simultaneously. We hope our AI-powered video processing tools for different languages will be useful to them”.
