Russian Language Day Celebrated in Addis Ababa
The event took place at the UN Economic Commission for Africa, attended by Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia Evgeny Terekhin, members of the diplomatic corps in Addis Ababa, and others.
Various guests, including renowned author and critic Ayaleneh Mulatu, recited poems and sang songs in Russian and Amharic.
Russian Language Day at the United Nations falls on June 6, the birthdate of Aleksandr Pushkin — the revered poet who is often hailed as the father of modern Russian literature.
