AES Anthem Echoes in Three Member Countries
"La Confédérale," known as "Le Sahel benkan" in Burkina Faso, was performed on June 9 during flag-raising ceremonies attended by the leaders of each nation.
The three-verse composition honors the history, bravery, and future of the Sahel region.
"This anthem is not a simple collection of notes. It carries meaning, a message, and pride," Malian Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maïga declared after the ceremony.
