Nigeria's Football Team Coach Praises Match Atmosphere & Teams Performance
"For me, it was a very big match in a beautiful stadium, with great fans — there was an excellent atmosphere," Eric Chelle (photo 1) told Sputnik Africa.
Russian and Nigerian teams played to a 1-1 draw in a friendly match that took place on Friday in Moscow. This match was part of a series of friendlies between Russian and African teams.
Despite a difficult first half, Chelle was proud of his team's performance: "I think we deserved this draw." He also praised the Russian team as "a very strong."
"We are both very athletic, powerful, fast, and strong teams — everyone could see that. It's clear that Nigeria and Cameroon were more interesting opponents than all the others we've played," Russian coach Valery Karpin (photo 2) commented for his part.
