NEW YORK (Sputnik) - From his point of view, the purpose of Ukraine is to "prevent the integration of Eurasia and the Global South, which movement is fast ushering in a new global security and development architecture - or to use President Putin's words, a new "global polyphony."
The recent Ukrainian attacks on Russia, including explosions on railways and drone strikes at Russian airfields, are aimed at undermining the peace process and provoking a nuclear conflict, Richard Black, a representative of The Schiller Institute think-tank to the United Nations in New York, told RIA Novosti.
"The hideous recent multiple bombings by Ukrainian terrorists of Russian passenger trains are acts of Ukrainian state terrorism, executed clearly with training and assistance of NATO personnel. Combined with ... the multiple drone attacks of Russia's strategic bomber fleet, the intent is to blow up the peace process initiated by the [Russian President Vladimir] Putin-[US President Donald] Trump ongoing dialogue, and to unleash a nuclear-strategic conflict between the world's two greatest nuclear superpowers," Black said.
On Saturday night, an overpass collapsed on a Moscow-bound passenger train near the city of Bryansk, leaving seven people dead and more than 100 others were injured. On the next day, Governor Alexander Bogomaz said that the bridge was blown up while the train was moving. The Russian Investigative Committee designated the blast as a terrorist attack on Tuesday. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the decisions on the terrorist attacks in the Kursk and Bryansk regions were impossible without the highest political level of Ukraine, adding that it was Kiev that gave the order to blow up the train in the Bryansk Region.
On Sunday, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Kiev had carried out a terrorist attack using FPV drones at airfields in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions. All the attacks on airfields in the Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions were repelled. According to the ministry, the fires that occurred as a result of Ukraine's attacks on airfields in the Murmansk and Irkutsk regions were extinguished, and there were no casualties among the personnel.
