Cameroon Wants to Take Its Destiny Into Its Own Hands, Expert Says

"We have not yet created our statehood. The state was created by the French in April 1957 — we must establish our own," Cameroonian economist and presidential hopeful candidate Yamb Ntimba pointed out to Sputnik Africa.

⏩ Ntimba said the steps towards reclaiming full sovereignty are as follows:

Align with BRICS+: "We will move forward with those who today form the core of humanity's economic, industrial, scientific, and technological growth."

Rename the nation: "We must have a name rooted in our traditions" — not one derived from the Portuguese.

Introduce a national currency: "We will sovereignly choose our own currency."

Convene a Constituent Assembly: "To fully define Cameroon's political environment and landscape."
