Made-in-Nigeria Military Gear Rises as Country Pushes for Self-Reliance, Defense Minister Says
"The ongoing efforts in training, local production, and refurbishment of military assets are commendable," Mohammed Badaru said during a visit to key military institutions in northern Kaduna State.
Combat gear being developed locally includes:
⦁ armored personnel carriers;
⦁ mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles;
⦁ bulletproof glass;
⦁ spare parts;
⦁ surveillance UAVs.
Some of these systems have already been sent to active combat areas, the minister noted.
