Why the West Fears African Independence?
“The biggest fear of the West, of Northern donors, is Africa’s independence and Africa’s liberation,” Tian Johnson, Pan-African health justice strategist, told Sputnik Africa.
South-South partnerships aren't about saviorism - they're rooted in solidarity, reciprocity, and reimagining a just future in health and research, he noted.
That's exactly why they face backlash: such collaborations question Northern donors' relevance and threaten their power monopoly.
