Nigeria Banks on 209 Trillion Cubic Feet of Gas Reserves to Drive Economic Growth & Energy Transition
Olu Verheijen, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Energy, explained that the government is harnessing gas to:
🟠diversify the economy,
🟠advance the clean energy transition,
🟠create jobs.
Verheijen reiterated the administration’s target of producing 10 billion cubic feet of gas per day by 2030, emphasizing the need to unlock:
🟠onshore gas,
🟠associated gas,
🟠deepwater non-associated gas.
She also highlighted ongoing collaboration with security agencies and private operators to combat theft and vandalism, ensuring that all produced gas reaches the market.
