Uganda to Integrate Intellectual Property Education Into School Curriculum to Boost Innovation

The Ministry of Education announced plans to support science teachers with IP-integrated materials as part of ongoing reforms.

Speaking at a recent World Intellectual Property Organization and Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) seminar, Justice Minister Norbert Mao urged Africans to protect their ideas through IP education, calling it vital for safeguarding innovation.

"Innovation without protection is like a seed without soil," Alex Anganya, URSB Deputy Registrar General, said, emphasizing the need to embed IP education in STEM to turn ideas into societal benefits.
