On Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine would be held in Istanbul on next Monday.
Russia awaits Ukraine's response to Moscow's proposal to hold the next round of talks on June 2 in Istanbul, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"We need to wait for the response from the Ukrainian side and continue to navigate," Peskov told reporters, adding that Russia has not yet received a response from Kiev.
Ukraine's demands to immediately hand over the Russian draft memorandum on the settlement are nonconstructive, he emphasized.
"Russia actually proposed to meet in Istanbul on Monday and start discussing these projects. Therefore, demanding immediately ... — this is all nonconstructive. Here it is necessary either to confirm the readiness to continue negotiations or to do the opposite," the official noted.
More statements by Peskov:
Moscow will not publicly discuss the content of the settlement documents; negotiations must remain confidential.
It is important to continue direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
The threats made against Russian presidential aide Medinsky are outrageous; it is important for the relevant services to identify their source.
There are currently no plans for a new conversation between Putin and Trump.
