What's Known About Sidi Ould Tah, New President of African Development Bank?

In the third round of voting, Mauritanian Ould Tah was elected president of the AfDB with 76% of the vote, defeating Zambian Samuel Munzele Maimbo.
He will serve as the ninth president of the pan-African institution for five years. Ould Tah will officially assume office on September 1 of this year.
As the former head of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (2015-2025), Ould Tah has a solid reputation and extensive continental experience.

The four pillars outlining the basis of Sidi Ould Tah's leadership:

Mobilizing capital on a large scale;
"The needs on the continent require financing of more than $400 billion."
Reforming Africa's financial architecture;
"The continent must unite and speak with one financial voice on the world stage."
Transforming the demographic dividend into economic power;
"Africa's growing population is not a burden. It is a tremendous opportunity."
Industrializing Africa while developing its natural resources;
"Gross exports are a thing of the past; industrial Africa is the future."
He thus takes the succession of the Nigerian Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, who had spent 10 years at the head of the AfDB.
