"Europe has devolved into a hotbed of digital censorship, mass migration, restrictions on religious freedom," State Dept's Senior Advisor for Democracy Samuel Samson noted.
European institutions abandoned their original mission of unity and peace, and are instead embracing policies that undermine traditional Western heritage, the official pointed out.
"A Europe that replaces its spiritual and cultural roots, that treats traditional values as dangerous relics, and that centralizes power in unaccountable institutions is a Europe less capable of standing firm against external threats and internal decay," he stated.
