Ukraine Provokes, Russia Responds — That is Actual Situation, Japanese Politician Says
It is "unfair and non-objective" to focus solely on Russia's response, portraying it as "a unilateral aggressor," head of the Issuikai party Kimura Mitsuhide told Sputnik.
The official pointed out to examples of Kiev's provocations:
⦁ Assault on Russia's Kursk region — a "clear act of aggression;"
⦁ Attack on the Crimean Bridge — is Russia "destroying its own facilities?"
At the May Istanbul talks, Russia pushed for long-term stability and elimination of root causes of the conflict. Ukraine, however, offered only a 30-day pause — likely to wait for more Western arms, Mitsuhide noted.
"It is time for the EU and NATO to stop supplying arms to Ukraine and to think seriously about creating conditions for lasting peace and stability," he emphasized.
