Agriculture of Future: Will Machines Replace People?
Roman Fedotkin from the Russian State Agrarian University explored the role of automation in agriculture:
Multipurpose drones: Currently used for monitoring, mapping, fertilizing, and seeding;
Hybrid tractors: Vehicles with internal combustion engines and electromechanical transmissions are evolving towards full autonomy and driverless operation;
Essential agronomists: Despite automation, agronomists remain crucial for making decisions about plant cultivation;
Maintenance and servicing: Human technicians will still be needed to maintain and repair agricultural equipment.
