A Buffer Zone is to 'Limit Risks'
The project announced by Putin will prevent the situation from deteriorating again, as it did before the SMO, Bertrand Scholler, a French geopolitical analyst, explained to Sputnik Africa.
"The western border of Russia is apparently the one that has been most attacked in recent years with NATO's advance. So, it will be reinforced because most of the military tools currently available to Ukraine have a short range, which is to say, mostly a few dozen kilometers."
A buffer zone "allows for the deep detection of these attacks before they approach Russian territory," the expert concluded.
