Africa Advocates for Fair & Equal International Trade Rules: AU Legal Chair
The rules should enable all states to participate equally in trade, respecting collectively established market standards, Kevin Ferdinand Ndjimba, Chairperson of the African Union's International Law Commission, told Sputnik Africa.
He criticized the current unfair system where some countries impose their vision on others.
"We must establish integration mechanisms, first and foremost ones that take into account African states themselves—mechanisms for development," Ndjimba said.
He also highlighted the importance of Africanizing international trade law by shifting from passive consumption to active shaping.
