Beyond Borders: The Cultural Affinity Tying West Africa Together, Commissioner Says
West African unity is rather natural, as Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, President of the ECOWAS Commission, stressed in an interview with Sputnik Africa. He explained that "culturally, Africans are extremely united."
The official noted that while political divisions may exist, “the affinity at the cultural level is stronger.”
Touray also underlined ECOWAS's significance, stating, “ECOWAS is a force to reckon with.”
With over 50 ambassadors accredited to the organization, ECOWAS enjoys robust global partnerships, he added.
