'We Are Against Two Streams of Justice': Botswana Minister Calls for Equal Justice at ICC

The African Union's earlier resolution to consider withdrawing from the ICC reflects concerns over "selective justice" that seemingly targets African leaders while overlooking more powerful nations, Botswana’s Justice Minister, Nelson Ramaotwana, told Sputnik Africa.

“All the nations of the world, all 192 countries should be treated equally before the ICC,” he said on the sidelines of the 13th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum

He emphasized that African countries are not against justice—but against what they see as a double standard in how it is applied globally.

“We are against the two streams of justice, where we've got justice for the poor countries or the Third World countries or African countries, and justice for the powerful.”
