'We Have Always Been Partners,' Russian-Congolese Chamber of Commerce Says
The organization, based at the Federation of Enterprises in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), aims to attract Russian entrepreneurs and investors into various sectors, Ruth Ngwanza, Director General of the Chamber, told Sputnik Africa.
"There are sectors like agriculture that are not under sanctions and can be boosted through partnerships. Africa really needs this," she said.
Other targeted areas include mining, industry, and environmental development.
The DRC is also interested in technology transfer and innovation:
"There are more and more young people entering the tech sector, creating apps. During our inspection mission in Russia, we are exploring opportunities to connect with young Russian innovators as well," noted Ngwanza.
Russian Weeks in the DRC: A major event set to take place by the end of the year, aimed at connecting Congolese and Russian entrepreneurs. The program will include conferences and panel discussions designed to create concrete synergies.
