Nigeria Greenlights Chinese EV Factories in Push for Full-Cycle Investment to Boost Local Industrialization
Investments in Nigeria's mining industry are now focused on local value addition, Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake said during a meeting with Chinese ambassador Yu Dunhai.
"We now prioritize local processing to drive Nigeria's development. For instance, with the abundance of lithium, we want to see local manufacturing of electric vehicles and batteries," the minister noted.
Moreover, Nigeria has the potential to reduce reliance on fossil fuels through
electric vehicle production, he pointed out.
