Kenyan AUSSOM Troops Welcome New Commander
Brigadier Edward Banda has taken over command of Kenyan forces in Somalia under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission (AUSSOM), replacing Brigadier Seif Salim Rashid.
Reaffirmed commitment to AU, Somali government, and local communities;
“Our primary goal remains to support our neighbor, Somalia, in its efforts to achieve peace, stability and prosperity”;
Called for vigilance, professionalism, and respect for human rights.
