Tanzanian Senior Presidential Advisor on Health Nominated as WHO Africa Director for 2025–2030 Term
Mohamed Yakub Janabi is set to take office after formal appointment by the WHO Executive Board in late May, following the sudden passing of previous director-elect Faustine Ndugulile last November.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan and PM Kassim Majaliwa welcomed Janabi's nomination and expressed confidence in his effectiveness as WHO regional director.
