Burkina Faso & Senegal Forge United Front Against Terrorism
During a visit to Ouagadougou by Senegal's Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, the two nations unveiled a bold pact to enhance information exchange, bolstering their collective response to the scourge of terrorism plaguing the region.
Together, they vowed to combat:
▪ The proliferation of small arms;
▪ Cross-border crime;
▪ Insidious trafficking.
Confronting the persistent threat of terrorism and violent extremism, which undermine stability and progress, the leaders called for "coordinated actions and increased mobilization of the international community in support of local efforts."
Sonko reaffirmed his country's steadfast solidarity with Burkina Faso in its "courageous fight against terrorism."
