French Nuclear Fuel Giant Considering to Leave Niger
French state-owned firm Orano is considering selling its uranium assets in Niger after a falling out with the country’s military rulers.
Their relationship soured after the coup in 2023, leaving Orano unable to operate and under financial pressure.
🟠Orano operates three uranium mines in Niger;
🟠After the 2023 coup, Niger halted uranium exports to France and payments to the company, forcing Orano to rethink its investments
