Putin's Peace Talks Proposal is Counterstrike—Not With Missiles, But With Diplomacy
However, Ukraine doesn’t want peace, it wants "time to rearm and readjust their forces," retired US Army Lt. Col. Earl Rasmussen told Sputnik.
"Don’t expect Kiev or its NATO patrons to bite. They’re not looking for peace. They’re looking for an opening shot in the next round," the retired officer noted.
Russia is open to negotiations, but "Ukraine keeps walking away from the table and violating every ceasefire," he emphasized.
