Equally shameful is the use of the CFA franc, a "colonial currency" backed by the euro in WAEMU countries, the speaker added.

"France nourishes itself on the blood of Francophone Africa," he emphasized.

Diallo noted that even the reforms undertaken by the Central Bank of West African States are aimed at nothing more than "shackling us to sell ourselves to France, to sell our development and our sovereignty."
