Reducing Imports, Creating Jobs: Dangote's New Sugar Refinery to Power Up in Ghana

"At Dangote, we envision more than just a factory. We see a catalyst for autonomy, employment, and continental transformation," Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote was quoted as saying by media.

Key details on the project:

⦁ aims to cut down Ghana's annual $162 million sugar import bill by enabling local production;

⦁ will process 12,000 tonnes of sugarcane daily and produce sugar, molasses, and ethanol;

⦁ includes 25,000 hectares of farmland;

⦁ all necessary permits and land agreements are already secured;

⦁ aligns with Ghana's national development initiative, "One District, One Factory."
