East Africa Unites Against Tech Crime in Immigration Systems, Report Says
A new initiative to tackle tech-related crimes across East Africa, including AI threats, was discussed at the Migration Management Symposium in Moshi, Tanzania, local newspaper The Citizen reported.
"There have been procedural changes within the EAC, especially the adoption of digital services. In the past, these services were not digital, but now most of them are," the newspaper quoted the Commissioner for Legal Services in the Immigration Department, Novaita Mrosso, as saying.
Assistant Commissioner Hoja Mahiba warned that as technology progresses, so does crime, making it necessary to develop proactive strategies that balance development and security, according to The Citizen.
