Moscow Calls Zelensky's Statement About Security on May 9 in Russia Direct Threat
"After all, after every terrorist attack on Russian territory, the Kiev regime, its security services, and Zelensky personally boast that it was their doing and that they will continue doing it. Therefore, the phrase that he 'does not guarantee security on May 9 on the territory of Russia', as it is not his area of responsibility, is, of course, a direct threat," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik.
She said that the words of the Ukrainian president were not accidental.
"The statements that Zelensky has now made are not accidental. This is a classic threat of an international terrorist ... That is exactly why the head of Bankova [office of Ukraine's president] in one interview rejected a ceasefire proposed by Russian President [Vladimir Putin] for the days associated with the events on the occasion of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and unequivocally threatened the world leaders who plan to arrive in Moscow on May 9," the spokeswoman said.
Zakharova recalled that Zelensky spread his "foreign experience in terrorism" to other continents through extremist actions in different countries, in particular, a series of extremist acts in Mali.
