Top 10 Sub-Saharan African Countries with Strongest Growth Projected for 2025

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Regional Economic Outlook for Sub-Saharan Africa, the following countries are poised for significant economic expansion by 2025:

Senegal: 8.4%

Guinea: 7.1%

Rwanda: 7.1%

Niger: 6.6%

Ethiopia: 6.6%

Benin: 6.5%

Côte d'Ivoire: 6.3%

Uganda: 6.1%

Zambia: 6.2%

Tanzania: 6.0%

Niger, an AES country, achieved the continent's best economic performance in 2024 with a 10.3% growth rate, driven by increased oil production. Other AES members, Burkina Faso and Mali, are projected to reach 4.3% and 4.9% GDP growth, respectively.

Overall, the IMF expects GDP growth in Sub-Saharan Africa to decrease from 4.0% in 2024 to 3.8% in 2025 before increasing to 4.2% in 2026.
