Tanzania's Public Servants to Receive 35.1% Minimum Wage Increase
President Samia Suluhu Hassan announced a significant boost for Tanzanian public servants, raising the minimum wage from Sh370,000 to Sh500,000 (approximately $147 to $200) monthly.
"Now, with the economy growing by 5.5 percent, it is only fair that we share the gains," President Hassan said during May Day celebrations.
She assured that other salary scales would also see adjustments based on budgetary allowances. The government is also reviewing private sector pay structures.
