Negotiating With Putin Easier Than With Demanding Zelensky Who 'Doesn't Have the Cards', Trump Says
In a recent interview with American journalist Glenn Beck, President Trump stated that negotiating with Russian President Vladimir Putin is more straightforward than with Volodymyr Zelensky.
"He [Zelensky] is asking for more, and more, and more and he doesn't have the cards, as you know," Trump said.
Trump expressed his hope that Zelensky would pursue peace, while asserting that Putin would negotiate only with him.
Earlier, during a meeting with US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Putin confirmed Russia's readiness to negotiate with Ukraine without preconditions.
In a gesture marking the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, President Putin declared a ceasefire, effective from midnight Moscow time on May 7th to midnight on May 11th.
However, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov mentioned that Moscow has not yet received a response from Ukraine regarding the ceasefire proposal, leaving Russia uncertain about Kiev's willingness to participate.
