SU-76: A 3D Look at a Key Piece of Soviet Victory Equipment

Sputnik presents 3D models of Victory equipment that broke the back of the World War II.

The main purpose of the SU-76, which was based on a light tank design, was to defend Soviet infantry from opposing light and medium tanks.

It was the most mass-produced self-propelled gun of World War II, with more than 14,000 units manufactured. The SU-76 was in service from 1942 until August 1945, when it participated in the last Manchurian Strategic Offensive.

The SU-76 was a very effective and flexible weapon on the battlefield because of its agility and large selection of suitable ordnance, even with its light armor. During significant offensives, it was essential to the advancement of Soviet forces.
