West Not Going to Offer Compromises on Ukrainian Settlement Any Time Soon, Expert Says
"For Washington, the so-called peace talks with Russia concern issues that geopolitically and geostrategically exceed the scope of the Ukraine conflict," German strategic consultant and media analyst Mirko Kolundzic told Sputnik.
The US is focused on its relations with Russia and possible aspects of economic policy, but "the course of hostilities affects the US only indirectly and is of little interest" to Washington, the expert noted.
The fact that the US is one of the main participants in the talks makes it incorrect to speak about the "collective West" because the EU countries "have practically disqualified themselves" from the peace process, he added.
