Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Witkoff in the Kremlin. Kremlin aide Ushakov and the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and Russian special presidential envoy for economic cooperation with foreign countries, Kirill Dmitriev, were present at the meeting. Russia should be on guard despite the ongoing peace talks on the Ukrainian settlement, Peskov added.

Kremlin Calls Witkoff's Visit to Russia Shuttle Diplomacy
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Friday called the second visit of US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff to Russia in two weeks "shuttle diplomacy" as part of US mediation efforts to resolve the situation in Ukraine.
Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Witkoff in the Kremlin. Kremlin aide Ushakov and the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and Russian special presidential envoy for economic cooperation with foreign countries, Kirill Dmitriev, were present at the meeting.
"This is shuttle diplomacy. These are the mediation services provided by the United States," Peskov told Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin, adding that Witkoff came to Russia with Trump's message to Putin and is leaving with a message for the US president from the Russian leader.
Russia should be on guard despite the ongoing peace talks on the Ukrainian settlement, Peskov added.
