Russia's External Debt Hits Record Low Relative to GDP
Last year, the figure decreased by 3 percentage points—from 16% to 13%—marking the lowest level in modern history.
The highest level of external debt to GDP in Russia's modern history was observed in 1999, when it reached 91%.
Overall, Russia's external debt amounted to $290.3 billion by the end of last year, reflecting an 8.8% decrease over the year.
