Zimbabwe Aims to License One Million Vehicles by End of 2025
The Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) aims to improve licensing compliance and boost road maintenance funds. While 827,000 vehicles were licensed last year, the estimated national vehicle population is 1.3 million.
The 'One Million Campaign' is a key part of a plan to improve infrastructure through collaboration, modernize service delivery, and effectively direct funds to road maintenance, contributing to national development, ZINARA CEO Nkosinathi Ncube stated.
To achieve the one million vehicle target, ZINARA has implemented the following measures:
🟠 24-hour licensing services at select tollgates;
🟠 Online vehicle licensing platform;
🟠 Intensified blitz operations extending into smaller towns and remote areas;
🟠 Collaboration with law enforcement to identify unlicensed vehicles on highways.
