'Made in Ethiopia' Movement Powers Local Industry Revival
Launched in 2022 by PM Abiy Ahmed, the Made in Ethiopia movement is transforming the country’s manufacturing landscape.
Here’s how:
🟡Goal: Boost local production, reduce imports, and create jobs until 2032;
🟡Impact so far:
🟠Over 625 industries revived
🟠Production capacity rose from 46% to 61%
🟠$3B+ in forex saved by replacing imports
🟠$204M in exports recorded in just 8 months
🟡To address the skills gap, an Industrial University Council has been established to align education with industry needs.
