Celebrating Africa in Russia: A Week of Culture, Unity, and Heritage
Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia launched its annual Cultural Week for Students from African Countries on April 22, bringing together diplomats, students, and community leaders to celebrate the continent’s rich heritage.
Highlights:
🟣The opening was attended by diplomats from Benin, Sierra Leone, and Guinea;
🟣The event is featuring exhibitions, dance masterclasses, fashion shows, and a final concert;
🟣Representatives from over 20 African countries joined on day one, with up to 30 expected in the coming days.
Sierra Leone's Deputy Ambassador Saspo Ibrahim Sankoh called the event a “true celebration” and praised it for building “bridges of friendship” and honoring Africa’s vibrant culture and history.
