There Are No Countries Unfriendly to Russia in Africa: Russian FM
Russia and Africa are natural allies, Tatyana Dovgalenko, head of the Department of Partnership with Africa at the Russian Foreign Ministry, said during the IV Forum "Russia-Africa: What's Next?"
"It is important that our African partners also view us [Russia] as one of the leaders of the emerging polycentric world, which is in fact capable of defending its sovereignty and which can assist other states in this," she said.
The diplomat stressed that none of the continent’s states has joined the anti-Russian sanctions.
"The continent is steadily increasing its political weight in world affairs and is increasingly asserting itself as an independent global player. At the same time, Africa is focusing on its own institutions and deepening inter-African cooperation in the spirit of the principle of "African problems - African solutions," Dovgalenko noted.
