Florian Philippot, president of the French Patriots party, discussed with Sputnik Africa Vladimir Putin's initiative to stop the fighting on Easter, announced on Saturday.
The politician described this decision as a "very positive step forward." According to him, "any truce is good, as long as it allows for the resumption of dialogue for peace negotiations."
Philippot further slammed the EU's position, which "is doing everything to prevent this dialogue" and is pushing Zelensky to "adopt an intransigent stance."
"France, freed from the EU, could work towards peace," he argued.
