Tanzania Raises Over $595,000 for eLearning Africa Summit, Paving Way for Digital Education Revolution
"Tanzania has made significant progress in promoting innovation and digital tools in education. Hosting the summit will not only boost our image globally but will also accelerate our transition to modern learning systems," local media quoted Education Minister Adolf Mkenda as saying at a fundraising gala that attracted a substantial sum in just one night.
The 18th eLearning Africa Summit will be held in Dar es Salaam on May 7-9, gathering over 1,000 participants from over 80 countries to discuss AI in education, digital tool access, and bridging Africa's digital divide.

According to officials, the upcoming summit is significant for Tanzania because it:
highlights Tanzania's commitment to digital diplomacy and ICT integration in education;
showcases innovations and provides a platform for Tanzanian youth and stakeholders to engage with international experts;
is a milestone for Tanzania’s education reform and digital learning efforts;
is expected to boost Tanzania's economy through tourism, accommodation, transport, and local services;
demonstrates Tanzania's readiness to host global conferences and attract partnerships;
presents an opportunity to inspire other African nations to prioritize digital education.
