MOSCOW (Sputnik) - South African Foreign Minister Lamola noted that the victory in the Great Patriotic War is great not only for the people of Russia, but for the entire world.
South African Defense Minister Angelina Mocekga will attend the Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9, South African Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola said.
"I won't be here, but our defense minister will be here to represent the South African government," the top diplomat told RT on Thursday.
South Africa is a sovereign state and others are obliged to respect its right to interact with other countries, including partners such as Russia, Lamola stated, commenting on the words of EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas about the call for EU countries not to participate in the parade in Moscow.
