Agricultural Exports, Energy, Digitization: Cooperation Between Moscow and Algiers is Thriving
Russia and Algeria are developing commercial partnerships in "key sectors," and several Russian companies will be present at the upcoming ICT Africa Summit in Algiers, Ivan Nalitch, Russia's trade representative in Algeria, told Sputnik Africa.
According to him, the promising sectors include:
🟡 Agribusiness
🟡 Metallurgy
🟡 Agricultural machinery
🟡 Energy, particularly hydrocarbons
🟡 The pharmaceutical sector
A recent agreement harmonizing standards between the two countries has also been signed, enabling an expansion of equipment deliveries to the Algerian market, Nalitch noted.
In addition, Algeria is showing interest in Russian digital solutions, including cybersecurity as well as financial and telecommunications technologies.
"Russian digital expertise is well-known. It is a developed country in terms of digitization across various economic sectors — from industry to telecommunications. Algeria is interested in these advancements. Several major events are held there each year to attract digital players," Nalitch highlighted.
