Kenyan President Ruto Suspends State Health Agency's Chair Amid Kidney Transplant Malpractices Scandal
Swarup Mishra, Kenya BioVax Institute's head and founder of the Mediheal Hospitals has been suspended while an investigation is underway, the presidency said in a statement.

▪Eldoret city's Mediheal hospital investigated for "unethical and illegal" kidney transplant activities;
▪all patients redirected to other licensed kidney transplant facilities;
▪two senior Health Ministry officials suspended as part of the probe a day earlier;
▪an independent committee was appointed on Thursday to audit the hospital's kidney transplant services over the past five years;
▪the committee to submit findings within 90 days;
▪poor Kenyans were reportedly paid $2,200 for kidneys donations, resold to foreigners for $24,600.
