Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa to Visit Belarus in May
Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov conveyed an invitation from President Alexander Lukashenko on Wednesday during a working visit to Zimbabwe, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Here are some highlights on the Belarusian delegation's visit to Zimbabwe:
▫discussions focused on bilateral cooperation, including the implementation of the third phase of Zimbabwe's agricultural mechanization program using Belarusian equipment;
▫President Mnangagwa emphasized strategic ties, mutual support, and opposition to sanctions, expressing confidence in the success of his upcoming visit to Belarus;
▫talks with Zimbabwean Foreign Minister Amon Murwira deepened political dialogue between the two countries;
▫a Joint Commission meeting, chaired by Murwira and Ryzhenkov, expanded collaboration in agriculture, industry, healthcare, education, mining, and disaster management;
▫a new roadmap for cooperation (2026-2030) was agreed upon;
▫agreements were signed on bus production in Zimbabwe and machinery supplies;
▫Zimbabwe thanked Belarus for humanitarian aid in combating El Nino-induced drought.
