South Africa Deploys New State-of-the-Art Drones for Border Management
South African Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber unveiled four Autel Robotics drones for South Africa's Border Management Authority: two Evo Max 4N and two Evo Max 4T.
The drones have the following features:
🟠 Rapid deployment: they can take off within 15 seconds of detecting a disturbance;
🟠 Speed: 43 km/h;
🟠 Versatile operation: they can operate in rural areas without GPS and in all weather conditions;
🟠 AI-powered detection: they can detect moving objects, people, and vehicles with thermal capabilities.
The Evo Max 4T suits daytime use, while the Evo Max 4N excels at night thanks to its starlight camera for lighting conditions as low as 0,0001 lux.
The South African Border Management Authority is training eight officers as expert drone pilots to operate the drones in shifts nationwide.
