Russia to Redirect Hydrocarbon Imports to Friendly Countries
Russia’s 2050 Energy Strategy, which has been approved by the government, takes into account existing challenges and is designed to contribute to the growth of the Russian economy, stated the Russian PM.
Key Objectives of the Strategy:
Ensure constant access to energy for the population and industries;
Efficiently realize the country’s export potential;
Guarantee energy security and the competitiveness of the sector.
Planned Actions:
🟠Accelerated development of oil and gas processing,
🟠Expansion of the national gasification program,
🟠Supply of affordable petroleum products to the domestic market.
Projected Growth:
Natural gas production in Russia is expected to reach 920 billion cubic meters by 2050, compared to 685 billion cubic meters in 2024.
Oil production will remain stable at 540 million tonnes until 2050.
Crude oil exports will increase slightly from 234 million tonnes in 2023 to 235 million tonnes in 2030 and are not expected to grow further by 2050.
